I've loved opera for as long as I can remeber- the drama, the passion, and the power of the human voice completely captivated me. I started taking voice lessons at the age of 10, and since then, singing has become not just a passion but a central part of who I am. Opera allows me to connect with music on an emotional level and express stories in a way that words alone can't. Opera demands not just vocal excellence, but deep emotional intelligence, linguistic agility, and the ability to fully embody a character. These demands ignited in me a desire not only to perform, but to understand opera on a deeper, more comprehensive level. I hope to continue my education after finishing my undergraduate program at the Osher School of Music at the University of Southern Maine through a graduate program for vocal pedagogy and performance.

In her first year at the University of Southern Maine, Aberdeen sang with the Osher School of Music's Bella Voce Choir under the direction of Dr. Michele Kaschub. She is currently a member of the Chamber Singers, led by Dr. Kyle Neilsen. Over the past years, Aberdeen earned first place in Classical Divisions IV and V of the National Association of Teachers of Singing competition and received the prestigious Ellen Chickering Award. Aberdeen was an intern with the 2025 Blue Hill Bach Festival, performing in a vocal masterclass with Gene Stenger, renowned tenor and Yale faculty member. Additionally, she sang as a member of the chorus for the festival finale performance of Bach's Magnificat. Recently elected treasurer of the Osher School of Music’s Student American Choral Directors Association (SACDA), she is committed to fulfilling her role with diligence and accuracy. Driven by a passion for choral music, Aberdeen hopes to inspire fellow musicians and strengthen connections within the community of emerging artists across southern Maine.
